We are living in the liquid IT era, where legacy local on-premises infrastructures and capabilities are progressively substituted by cloud based ubiquitous computing.

The shipping industry that moved later than other industries to a more IT driven infrastructure, is now gradually adopting the IT liquid concept facing the need to cross-integrate processes, solutions and data outside of the traditional company boundaries.

The IT framework perimeter becomes blurry, increasing significantly for hackers the opportunity to penetrate, with consequences that can severely damage the Organization’s ability to operate.

But being complex quantifying the value at risk, it makes it very difficult to understand how much to invest in cyber-security, in that

the level of protection effectively achieved remains uncertain.
